Elevator tower at Ghibli Park begins operations.

Elevetor Tower at Ghible Park reflecting the world of Studio Ghibli’s films

Elevator Tower, one of the entrances to Ghibli Park, is now in operation.

It is now actually available for use.

The elevator tower is modeled after the imaginary scientific world at the end of the 19th century, which was the model for the world of “Laputa: Castle in the Sky”.

It can be used free of charge from today.

The elevator tower at Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park in Nagakute, Aichi Prefecture, has been transformed into a building reflecting the world of Studio Ghibli’s films “Laputa: Castle in the Sky” and “Howl’s Moving Castle.

It is a landmark presence that will welcome visitors to Ghibli Park, which will open on November 1, 2022.

The Aichi Prefecture Governor and other officials attended the unveiling ceremony before the building was put into use on the afternoon of April 23, 2022.

The elevator tower is 28 meters high and seats 20 passengers.

It is located on the route from the Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park Park Station on the Linimo train (Eastern Hills Line) to the Ghibli Park “Seishun no Oka” area (approx. 0.8 hectare) and the Ghibli Grand Warehouse (approx. 0.8 hectare), and will provide a barrier-free passage between the station and the park.

Renewal of elevators in the Memorial Park

It was originally constructed in 2007 as a facility within the park with elevation differences.

Aichi Prefecture renovated it last spring, giving it a new brown interior and exterior that evokes the world of fantasy science at the end of the nineteenth century.

This elevator tower is located within the park.
The elevator is free of charge for use by non-park park users, and is now available for early use.
