Monoke Village opens on November 1, 2023!
On the other hand, we have some sad…no, OMG news.
Studio Ghibli has discontinued its official “X” (formerly Twitter) account.
スタジオ・ジブリの公式”X”アカウント”が廃止
This was actually a bit of shocking news.
As of midnight on November 3, 2023, to be exact, this account has been suspended.
For those of you who accessed the site from a computer, you may have been familiar with the “X” reposts in the left column of the website, in which Studio Ghibli’s posts (tweets) often appeared.
On the other hand, the accounts of Studio Ghibli’s sister accounts, “Mitakanomori Ghibli Museum” and “Donguri Republic,” a merchandise store, will continue to operate as usual.
Studio Ghibli’s official “X” account launched in conjunction with the release of “The Boy and the Heron
I did not know this, but the official account of Studio Ghibli was opened three years before the release (in 2020) of “The Boy and the Heron,” a film directed by Hayao Miyazaki, who has not worked as a director in a long time.
It seems to be more like it was opened for the release of this film, and it may be fair to say that it has completed its purpose or role.
Many “X” users regret the discontinuation
Many users have expressed their regret over the discontinuation of Studio Ghibli’s official account.
Some of the drawings are of high quality, and the “X” users’ deep love for Studio Ghibli can be felt.
Thanks to Studio Ghibli for providing images of their works
Travel Guidance to Ghibli Park, Japan” is also based on images distributed through the official Twitter account at the time, which were used to create the thumbnails on this page.
I was given permission to use a few images on SNS and other websites with the message, “Please feel free to use them within the bounds of common sense.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you again.
Below are the main pages of this site that use that image as a thumbnail.
Ghibli Park’s “X” account will, of course, survive
It goes without saying that the “X” account at Ghibli Park will not be discontinued, as is the case with the aforementioned Mitakanomori Ghibli Museum and Dongurimori Republic.
While the two previous accounts have provided us with a wealth of information, we would honestly be happy to receive a little more information from the Ghibli Park account.
Expect Ghibli Park “X” account to announce transportation
Although it has been only one year since the opening of the park, I am sure that it is still busy, but I think that weather information and information related to the opening and entrance of the park due to transportation disruptions is important, especially for visitors from overseas.
I would like to see the Ghibli Park management improve the “X” system for providing information to visitors to the park due to transportation disruptions, even if it is not in real time.
I would like to see the Ghibli Park management improve on this point, but I am sure this immediacy will be improved in due course.
In this issue, we briefly discuss the news of the discontinuation of Studio Ghibli’s official “X” account.
The weather is getting colder as we head into winter.
If you are planning to visit Ghibli Park, please be sure to stay warm.
