What is Fujigaoka area connecting Ghibli Park and Nagoya Station?
While it is possible to reach Ghibli Park by bus, cab, or rental car, the most common way to get there is to transfer from Nagoya Station to the subway and Linimo Railway.
Fujigaoka is the transfer point for that railroad transfer.
Fujigaoka is known for its large number of commuters since the subway and Linimo Railroad stations are adjacent to each other and it is also a bus terminal station.
Therefore, the area is crowded with many stores for shopping.
Nagoya Station has few takeout stores
Nagoya Station is the station that many people will be using to get to Ghibli Park, but there are not many stores for take-out.
There are several convenience stores in the concourse of Nagoya Station, but to be honest, these are the only ones suitable for take-out.
There are many stores selling souvenirs, but the number of stores for taking them home to eat is a bit small. To begin with, the distance to carry it should be as short as possible.
* However, breads from convenience stores are also attractive enough (^_^;)
Nagoya Station restaurants are a bit expensive and Ghibli Park restaurants are scarce
And…while this does not apply to convenience stores and chain restaurants, take-out stores and restaurants at Nagoya Station are also a bit expensive.
This is partly due to the cost of the Nagoya Station building tenants, and although there are many attractive restaurants, they all seem to be “expensive.
Most importantly, there are not many food and beverage facilities in Aichi Commemorative Park.
There is a Mos Burger kitchen car and a little bit of food in the “Ghibli’s Big Warehouse,” but they are not enough for those who want to have a solid meal.
The second phase of Ghibli Park is expected to open with food and beverage facilities, but it would be nice to sit on the lawn and enjoy take-out food before or after entering the park.
A wide variety of take-out and eat-in restaurants around Fujigaoka Station
Fujigaoka Subway Station, which has a direct connection from Nagoya Station, is once outside when transferring to the Linimo Railway Station of the same name.
Fujigaoka Station is very easy to understand, and you can make the connection to Ghibli Park by exiting the subway at Exit 3 and entering Exit 3 of the Linimo Railway, but if you are trying to procure a meal, you may want to stretch your legs just a bit.
Straight ahead, with the Linimo entrance on the left just outside the subway station, you will find a two-story mini shopping mall called “Fujigaoka effe”.
Fujigaoka effe with supermarket and specialty stores
The “effe” is a landmark of Fujigaoka Station, which houses both a supermarket and specialty food and beverage stores.
Broadly speaking, the first floor houses a supermarket and specialty stores for takeout, while the second floor houses eat-in restaurants.
Some familiar chain restaurants in the area
In addition to effe, the station building, so to speak, there are a variety of dining options in the area, including familiar chain restaurants.
McDonald’s, Matsuya (beef bowl), CoCo Ichibanya (curry), ramen stores, and udon restaurants that have recently become popular in Europe.
Information on each restaurant is described below.
There are also izakaya (Japanese style pubs) where you can enjoy uniquely Japanese cuisine, although the hours are set for dinner.
Information on food stores within a few minutes’ walk from Fujigaoka Station
The following is a list of food-related stores within a few minutes’ walk from Fujigaoka station.
There are many stores that cannot be introduced because of the terminal station, but we have chosen stores that are close by, chain stores, and easy to get to.
It may be difficult to find English-speaking staff at many of the restaurants, but most of them clearly indicate their menus and prices, so please try to choose among them.
Market and specialty stores on the first floor of Fujigaoka “effe”
As shown in the image above, Fujigaoka “effe” is located about a one-minute walk from the subway exit.

First, let us introduce the stores located in this Fujigaoka “effe”.
Seijyo Ishii : Supermarket
Seijo Ishii is the main store that you enter from the front of Fujigaoka “effe”.
This supermarket is considered relatively upper class in Japan, and in fact carries slightly more upscale foodstuffs. It is often compared to the MaxValu Fujigaoka store mentioned below in terms of high and low prices.
However, it tends to be biased toward imported foodstuffs, so it is recommended to take a look when shopping for a wide variety of bento lunches, pastries, side dishes, desserts, etc.

Have you heard about Izakaya?
You can enjoy a variety of dishes while having a drink.

I would also like to introduce two ramen stores.

With so many restaurants, you might not know where to eat. The only thing that is missing is a reasonably priced sushi restaurant.
Whether you buy a take-out meal or eat in, you can choose the most convenient restaurant according to your budget and time of day.
My personal top recommendation is Izakaya. Originally started as a place to serve drinks and snacks, but you are welcome to come here for meals as well.
This is because you can enjoy sashimi, grilled fish, and other uniquely Japanese dishes at reasonable prices.
Fujigaoka is a street, but it is a town with a wonderful atmosphere, and we hope you will enjoy that atmosphere as well.
